Logistics industry veteran Mike Petro has joined Mercator International as Partner of the firm effective November 1.  Mike has extensive experience in the industry and has recently led several transportation related projects across various modes including ocean, rail, trucking and intermodal.  He will be responsible for expanding Mercator’s business in several key client sectors, including ports & terminals, rail & intermodal, transportation assets & infrastructure, and in the investor sector.  

Mike has held leadership and executive positions with some of the most notable firms in the transportation industry, including American President Lines (APL), CSX Intermodal, and CSX Transportation where he served as Managing Director of Service Design managing a portfolio of rail assets valued at over $1 billion.

Mike has been an advisor to clients in the Transportation & Logistics industry for over 17 years.  He was Managing Partner at Point B Logistics, a Transportation Consultancy he founded in 2001. Most recently, he was Vice President of T&L Advisory Consulting for Ausenco, the global engineering and consulting firm.  Before joining Ausenco, he served as the Practice Lead for Logistics & Transportation at Advisian, the global consulting arm of the multinational WorleyParsons Group, where he led teams undertaking financial, technical and operational due diligence studies, master planning assignments, and transportation studies for container terminals, railroads, inland intermodal and bulk terminals.
